ive checked the tide times for our local beaches (you can get an app for just about anything these days!!!) and its looking like we will be able to get a good walk along druridge bay tomorrow. We've planned a nice little 4 miler which also takes in a circuit of the druridge country park and lake as well as the stretch on the beach. Now then, where's my phone to check the BBC weather app for tomorrow? Best wishes Toodles - Paula www.1girl1dog.blogspot.co.uk

Just a short follow up - we had a lovely walk today at druridge bay with blue skies, sun shining brightly but virtually gale force winds. We did actually walk the 4 miles anticipated and only just beat the tide to get back to the car before there was no beach left to walk on. I know this is a northumberland hills forum but you can't beat the beaches in our beautiful county for a good stretch of the legs - the dogs had a great time playing fetch in such vast open spaces. We do indeed have a wonderful coastline, best in the country - possibly? So, I`m happy (others too, I guess) to see more beach photos/reports; there are some others on the forums, a couple this section, a number in Galleries, and in the Board `Other UK Regions`. My favourite stretches of coastline are at Alnmouth and Boulmer, prefer the latter because it`s generally quieter, less of a tourist - how you say, attraction!
