Racking my brains to remember the name of this very common plant, think it`s purple loosestrife, but not sure; grows in abundance, particularly on embankments, roadside verges, river banks, everywhere! This photograph was taken while on a road walk midway between Alnham and Little Ryle about ten days ago - Prendwick in the middle distance, between the trees. Often refered to as Fireweed, but that`s not its real name.
